161 m² Role Play House Project in Latvia

Delivered project · 3D design renderings shown · Latvia

This 161 m² role play house and soft-play venue in Latvia was designed and equipped by NinescapeLand, a factory-direct indoor playground equipment manufacturer in Wenzhou, China. The concept is a calm, natural-wood playscape in olive green, blush pink and cream: a two-storey timber play structure with a wide pink slide into a kidney-shaped ball pool, climbing walls and rope nets, a fenced toddler garden, a timber playhouse for dress-up role play, science wall panels and a ring of circular parent booths at the centre of the room. It is a useful benchmark for a mall store or community centre where parents stay and watch, and it deliberately shares its calm design language with our 112 m² Latvia soft play page — a different venue for a different client.

    Background & Site Conditions

The floor plate is an irregular rectangle with the building services strip along one side, large windows and a door on the window wall, and no full-height interior partitions. The two-storey timber structure takes the middle-right of the plan, sliding and pooling toward the open centre; the circular parent booths stand at the very middle, so every route in the venue passes them.

The client brief targeted preschoolers with parents on site, which is why supervision seating is treated as furniture-grade design rather than an afterthought: upholstered circular booths around the columns, curved benches along the walls and a pink dado line under the window wall. Height in the room comes from the play structure itself, not from a mezzanine, keeping the single-level sightlines open.

    Layout & Zoning

Latvia 161sqm role play centre - top view of the zoning and circulation

A ring route circles the central booths: ball pool and slide on one side, climbing zone and science walls on the other, the fenced toddler garden along the window, and the timber playhouse completing the loop.

    • Two-storey timber play structure — pale pine frame with arched openings, a round porthole window, slatted railings and a green-deck platform; stairs on one side, a wide pink straight slide on the other.
    • Ball pool — olive-green rolled-edge pool in white and beige balls, fed by the pink slide and edged by the climbing zone.
    • Climbing zone — two olive-green climbing walls with orange-yellow holds (one with a pegboard face), rope-hung gymnastic rings, a cream thick-rope net wall and a grey net crawl drum through a round doorway.
    • Upper platform walkway — green soft floor, oval window openings, rope-net guarding and a pink-green striped pod/cylinder soft element at the end of the route.
    • Toddler garden — an olive-green timber fence around a pink ball pool, rainbow arch rocker, yellow/green soft slopes and wedges, large soft blocks, table toys and yellow foam mats.
    • Playhouse role-play — a timber house frame with an arched opening and round window, a rail for dress-up costumes inside, and a yellow mushroom spinner seat beside it.
    • Science interaction wall — two standing panel boards with picture-and-text interaction modules along the wall by the climbing zone.
    • Parent seating — circular upholstered booths built around the two central columns, plus matching curved benches under the window wall.
    • Spiral stair — an olive-green spiral staircase at the right of the structure, serving the upper level of the play frame.

Why this arrangement: the parent booths are placed in the exact centre of the room, which turns supervision geometry into the organising idea of the plan — every zone, including the upper platform, is visible from the middle seat, so one adult can cover the whole floor. The toddler garden hugs the window wall where daylight and street visibility are best, keeping under-3s away from the slide run-out; and the playhouse sits opposite the ball pool so role-play traffic and wet/loose-ball traffic never mix.

    Design Trade-offs

Two choices shaped this plan. First, one substantial two-storey timber landmark instead of several small sets: at 161 m² a single strong structure photographs better, queues more predictably and leaves the rest of the floor free for cheap, flexible elements (soft blocks, wall games) — the cost is that the slide is a single point of congestion at peak time, which the wide straight profile mitigates. Second, the inlaid round trampoline is kept to one bed only: it adds bounce appeal for 4–6s without importing the staffing and netting costs of a real trampoline zone that this venue size cannot support.

    Materials & Safety

    • Pale pine frames and wood-grain cladding with radiused corners throughout
    • Green and pink PVC soft cladding on all platform decks, slide surfaces and stair treads
    • White terrazzo-look flooring with coloured aggregate; yellow foam mats in the toddler garden
    • Cream thick-rope net and grey small-mesh net guarding on platform edges and the crawl tunnel
    • Cloud/ island-shaped timber grille ceiling with linear LED strips, ring lights at column tops and recessed downlights

    FAQ

How is this Latvia project different from your other Latvia page?

The 112 m² Latvia venue on our site is a macaron-coloured soft-play centre for a different client, with a bigger climbing-and-swing programme. This 161 m² page shows a calmer natural-wood design built around role play, a toddler garden and parent seating — the two pages together show how the same footprint class can follow two different business models.

What ages is the layout designed for?

The core audience is 2–6: the structure, ball pool and climbing walls take 3–6, the fenced garden takes 1–3, and the playhouse and science walls hold the 4–6s who outgrow pure soft play.

Can the timber theme be reproduced with different colours?

Yes — the pine frames, olive green, pink and cream are all custom finishes. The zoning skeleton (central seating, window-side toddlers, structure in the middle) works in any palette.

Is one slide enough for a venue of this size?

For a 2–6 audience, usually yes: throughput at this age is limited by climbing speed, not slide width, and the wide pink profile lets two children descend side by side. Older-age venues need more slide lines.

Do you ship to Latvia and the Baltic states?

Yes — we deliver to Riga and other Baltic ports with full export documents and supervise installation with your local crew. Send your floor plan via our contact page.
