Is an indoor playground profitable in Southeast Asia?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes \u2014 but in this region profitability is decided by three numbers before equipment ever enters the conversation: rent per square metre, revenue per square metre, and how much of that revenue comes from birthday parties and F&amp;B rather than gate admissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In our project experience, a well-designed venue in a Thai mall typically pays back in <strong>12\u201324 months<\/strong>. Slower suburban locations with weak anchor tenants stretch to <strong>24\u201336 months<\/strong>. The difference is rarely the equipment \u2014 it is footfall and rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What separates the venues that hit the fast end of that range:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Revenue stacking.<\/strong> Gate admissions alone rarely carry a Thai lease. Birthday packages, school group bookings, a small caf\u00e9, and memberships usually add 40\u201360% on top of admissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dwell time.<\/strong> A playground that entertains a family for 90 minutes sells food. One that entertains them for 40 minutes does not.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Multi-age design.<\/strong> Toddler zones beside a trampoline or ninja course let one visit serve two children of different ages \u2014 a direct revenue multiplier in a market where families rarely visit alone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What we told visitors at Booth H33:<\/strong> stop asking &#8220;how much is the equipment&#8221; on day one. What size should I start with in a Bangkok mall?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For a first venue in Thailand, <strong>200\u2013400 sqm of play area<\/strong> is the low-risk entry point.
