324 m² Soft Play Centre Project in Italy
Delivered project · 3D design renderings shown · Italy
This 324 m² soft play centre in Italy was designed and equipped by NinescapeLand, a factory-direct indoor playground equipment manufacturer based in Wenzhou, China. The theme is a Christmas gingerbread village in olive green, cream yellow and deep brown, and the whole plan revolves around one oversized three-colour ball pool: a multi-level maze frame with transparent panels stands in the middle, a three-tier slide combination faces the pool, and soft steps, a climbing ramp and a crawl drum feed children back up into the circuit. If you are planning a soft play venue for roughly 3–8 year olds, this page shows how a single big pool can carry the entire layout.

Background & Site Conditions
The hall is close to a square, with a ring of grey non-pool flooring around the perimeter and the ball pool — white, beige and light-brown balls behind a cream soft edge — filling almost everything inside it. Gingerbread-textured wraps cover the structural columns, and the theme walls carry painted Christmas trees, wreath windows, hanging candy canes, bells, gift-box props and a reindeer board. A glowing “Welcome” arch marks the entry onto the soft steps.
The client wanted a low-staff, high-repeat venue for preschool and early-primary children, so the design avoids powered attractions entirely: the play value comes from the climb-slide-crawl circuit between the maze frame and the pool. Every slide, drop and platform edge lands in the ball pool, which doubles as the universal landing cushion — the defining cost decision of this category.
Layout & Zoning

The plan is a loop: children climb the striped ramp or soft steps into the maze frame, work through its platforms and tunnels, and return to the pool by slide, tube or drop — the perimeter walkway stays free for parents.
- Ball pool — an oversized pool of white, beige and light-brown balls with a cream-yellow soft rim that surrounds the central structure on all sides.
- Slide combination — a three-tier stepped platform with straight and curved slides in cream, olive green and deep brown, facing the front of the pool.
- Maze frame — a multi-level cream square-tube structure with transparent acrylic panels, deep-brown X-shaped decor bars, arch doorways, portholes and net-grid floors.
- Slide exits — a curved tube slide and a brown spiral/bend slide discharging from the maze back into the pool.
- Climb & crawl — a yellow climbing ramp with green-brown soft blocks, a wood-grain crawl drum and a net crawl tunnel between levels.
- Swing & soft blocks — a black-rope swing frame, hexagon and cone soft blocks scattered on the platforms, and wavy green railings with round windows.
- Theme walls — olive-green wave walls with Christmas-tree painting, wreath windows, hanging candy canes and bells, gift boxes and a reindeer board.
Why this arrangement: making the ball pool the whole floor instead of one zone removes every separate landing surface — no mats to maintain, no hard edges to police — and lets the maze frame stand free in the middle where all three slide tiers read from the entrance. The transparent acrylic panels on the maze keep sightlines open from the perimeter walkway, so two staff positions cover the entire venue; and the loop layout (climb up, crawl across, slide down, wade back) means capacity recycles itself without queue fencing.

Design Trade-offs
Two decisions define this plan. First, the ball pool was allowed to swallow the floor plate: a narrower pool with more walkway would have added a third attraction, but the full-size pool is what lets every slide discharge safely and what parents in this segment actually pay for. Second, the maze uses transparent acrylic panels instead of solid soft walls — slightly dearer per panel, but it converts the structure from a visibility problem into a display case, cutting supervision staffing for the whole venue.
Materials & Safety
- Cream, olive and brown soft padding on all slide bodies, platform edges and pool rim; rounded wave-shaped fascias throughout
- Transparent acrylic maze panels with soft-clad decor bars; net-grid floors on all upper levels
- Non-slip striped soft steps and ramps; gingerbread-textured column wraps with rounded corners
- Ball pool lined with a base layer under the balls (netted texture visible in renders) and a cream soft edge
- Deep-brown flat ceiling with structure-top feature lights and general floodlighting; no exposed heat sources above the pool
Timeline & Budget Reference
| Stage | What happens | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| 3D design | Send your floor plan, ceiling height and theme ideas — our in-house designers return a themed 3D layout with a full equipment list | 3–7 working days |
| Production & QC | Steel frames and soft padding are manufactured at our own facility, with safety checks and photo/video reports before packing | 20–30 days |
| Sea freight | Container shipping with full export documents to Italian ports (Genoa / Naples); door delivery can be arranged | 25–35 days |
| Installation & opening | Two NinescapeLand technicians supervise assembly with your local labour, then safety-check and hand over | 3–5 days |
For a turnkey indoor playground in Italy this adds up to roughly 60–75 days from deposit to opening. Budgets for a venue of this size vary mainly with theming density and the play-structure height — send us your floor plan for a firm, itemised quote rather than a rough range.

FAQ
Is one big ball pool enough for 324 m²?
For a 3–8 audience, usually yes: the pool is both the main attraction and the safety surface. Operators who need teen traffic add a small trampoline or interactive corner on the perimeter walkway.
How is the maze frame supervised?
Through the transparent acrylic panels and the net-grid floors: both staff sightlines and parent sightlines from the perimeter walkway pass straight through the structure.
What ages is the Italy layout built for?
Roughly 3–8 years. The steps, ramp and lower slides suit preschoolers; the maze platforms, swing and tube slide hold early-primary children.
Can the Christmas theme be swapped for a neutral one?
Yes — the gingerbread wraps, tree painting and props are all custom 3D elements. The same frame and pool work in any palette, which many operators do outside the season.
Do you deliver to Italy and handle EU documentation?
Yes — equipment ships to Italian ports such as Genoa and Naples with CE documentation, and our technicians supervise installation. Start via our contact page.
